Office Deputy
Salary: $2,022 - $2,909 DOE

Crook County Sheriff’s Office is seeking an office deputy.  Requirements:  18 years of age, a U.S. Citizen; valid Oregon Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.  No criminal record.  Pass a detailed background investigation.  Experience in data entry, ability to provide customer service in an active office environment with multiple responsibilities is preferred. Crook County Legal Extern
Externship/No benefits

This position is designed to allow the successful applicant to work in a local government in a rural central Oregon community.  Tasks will include drafting government documents, contracts, ordinances, correspondence, memoranda and conducting legal research.  Work will be performed under the supervision of the County Counsel, and independent effort will be encouraged based upon job experience.  Our goal is to allow hands-on experience at the earliest possible moment and an opportunity to experience exposure to all aspects of government law which occur during the time of employment.  The work environment is friendly and collegial, but busy.  Crook County features numerous outdoor activities such as fly fishing, hiking, skiing, camping, and boating, and is a short commute to both Bend and Redmond.
